Language Journey (the 'Service') considers the protection of users' personal information an important responsibility and manages and protects it appropriately. This policy explains what information the Service collects and how it is used.

The Service collects the following information:

• Account information: Email address, username, password (stored encrypted)
• Profile information: Display name, bio, avatar image, native language, and learning languages
• Posts and messages: Bulletin board post content, messages between users
• Usage logs: Access timestamps, IP addresses, and other log information

Article 3 (Purpose of Use)

Collected information is used for the following purposes:

• Providing, operating, and improving the Service
• User authentication and account management
• Providing matching and communication features between users
• Detecting and responding to unauthorized use or violation of terms
• Sending important notifications about the Service

Article 4 (Third Party Disclosure)

We will not provide users' personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

• With the user's consent
• When required by law
• When necessary to protect life, body, or property

Article 5 (Use of External Services)

The Service uses the following external services. Please review each service's privacy policy as well.

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and storage services
• Google OAuth: Login functionality via Google account (if used)

Article 6 (Public Information)

Profile information (display name, bio, native language, learning languages, avatar) and bulletin board posts are visible to all users of the Service. Email addresses and passwords are not visible to other users.

Article 7 (Information Management and Protection)

Collected information is managed with appropriate security measures. However, complete security on the internet cannot be guaranteed. Please also take responsibility for managing your own password.

Article 8 (User Rights)

• Profile information can be changed at any time from the profile editing page.
• Account deletion can be done from the account settings page. All data will be erased after deletion.
• For other requests regarding disclosure, correction, or deletion of information, please contact us via the contact page.

Article 9 (Policy Changes)

This policy may be changed as necessary. If there are significant changes, we will notify you on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
